The Frontier Science Forum (FSF) also sponsors and oversees technology development and incubation focused on expansion of consciousness. The digital age and nano-computing, along with advances in artificial intelligence, robotics and cybernetics, have given rise to new technological capabilities once considered to be purely within the realm of science fiction.
Virtual and augmented reality tools, combined with three dimensional imaging and holophonic sound recording, bring perception and sensation to a whole new level. They also open up a new frontier in the exploration and expansion of human consciousness. These innovations, and many more, have major implications for the induction and study of spiritually transformative experiences, as well as healing through mind over matter, and several other promising ground-breaking applications.
Through its Frontier Science Forum, Eternea aspires to conceive, engineer, incubate and experiment with new technologies for these and other purposes. If successful, these inventions will be patent protected. The royalty revenue from patent licensing and technology applications will augment funding for the implementation of other programs to be sponsored by Eternea over the long term.
Three examples of technology projects Eternea intends to sponsor are as follows:
1. Other Side Communication Devices (OSCD):
Technology in this category of research & development refers to electronic devices that may enable one-way or two-way communication between disincarnate entities in other spiritual realms of existence (including deceased loves ones) and living persons in this realm of existence. Other terms used to make reference to this field of research are “Instrumental Trans-Communication (ITC)” and “Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP).” These terms all refer to communication through any sort of electronic device such as computers with special software, modified cellular phones, tape recorders, fax machines, television sets and the like which may facilitate communication of some kind between discarnate entities in other realms of existence and mortals in this realm of existence.
2. Aural Inducers of Deep Relaxation & Altered States of Consciousness:
Aural technology can be used to induce deep relaxation and altered states of consciousness through sound waves, potentially triggering the onset of an STE. One example of aural technology is known as “hemi-sync” and “binaural beats.” This technology may influence functions of the brain known as "frequency following response." In theory, if one receives a stimulus with a frequency in the range of brain waves, the predominant brainwave frequency may move towards the frequency of the stimulus (a process called entrainment). Binaural beats have been credibly documented to influence spatial perception and stereo auditory recognition. Also, binaural beat stimulation has been used extensively to bring about altered states of consciousness. There has also been some work done concerning the effects of binaural beats on relaxation, focus, concentration and higher states of consciousness. In addition, some studies have shown that this technology can stimulate asymmetric hemispheric balancing in the brain affecting perception.
3. Visual Inducers of Deep Relaxation & Altered States of Consciousness:
One example of a visual inducer of STEs is the “dreamachine.” The dreamachine is a stroboscopic flicker device that produces visual stimuli, experienced with eyes closed. In its original form, the dreamachine was made from a cylinder with slits cut in the sides. The cylinder is placed on a record turntable and rotated at 78 or 45 revolutions per minute. A light bulb is suspended in the center of the cylinder and the rotation speed allows the light to come out from the holes at a constant frequency of between 8 and 13 pulses per second. This frequency range relates to alpha waves, which are electrical oscillations normally present in the human brain while relaxing. The pulsating light stimulates the optical nerve and alters the brain's electrical oscillations. The user experiences increasingly bright, complex patterns of color behind their closed eyelids. The patterns become shapes and symbols, swirling around, until the user feels surrounded by colors. Using a dreamachine may enable one to enter a hypnagogic state. The experience can be intense, but the session can be ended simply by opening one's eyes.
