1.2 Member Profiles. If you become a member of our
site or share an STE with us, we will ask you to complete a
questionnaire concerning your age, gender, personal interests, and other
categories of personal information (as presented on our Join and Update
Profile pages). We collect this information for the purpose of providing
you with personally tailored content in the form of articles, reports,
podcasts, audio and videos. The more information that you provide, the
better we can tailor your content. STE information is used by our
researchers to analyze the STE. It is held in strict confidence and will
only be displayed anonymously or aggregated with other STE data.

individuals reporting STEs, we also collect that information and store
it in our database. Personally Identifiable Information is retained by
us indefinitely. The information contained with your STE report is
only shared with our members on an anonymous basis.
2.3 Aggregate Information. Like most
websites, Eternea.org may collect and store certain statistical
information from your web browser, including your Internet Protocol (IP)
address; browser type; operating system; Internet Service Provider
(ISP); the date and time you accessed our website; the pages you
accessed on our site; the IP address of the website from which you
entered our site; and your exit page from our site. We may track the
total number of visitors to our website and the number of visitors to
each page of our site. We may analyze this data for trends and
statistics in the aggregate, but such information will be maintained,
used, and disclosed in aggregate form only and will not contain
Personally Identifiable Information. Aggregate Information is retained
by us indefinitely. STE data will be available to our researchers on a
strictly need to know basis. All STE data will only be available to
members and non-members on an anonymous basis
3.1 Methods of Information Collection.
Our methods of information collection are grouped into two categories:
Clickstream Data (a record of your activity on our website including
which pages that you visited, how long you were on a page [or our entire
website], in what order the pages were visited, and the e-mail addresses
of mail that you sent and received), and Information Voluntarily
Provided (by you).
3.2 Clickstream Data. As described
above, Eternea.org automatically collects and stores certain statistical
information from your web browser. We may use such aggregate information
to analyze trends, administer the website, track the movement of users
throughout our website, and gather broad demographic information for

text file stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We

multiple pages on our site during the same session, so that we do not
need to ask you for your password on each page. Once you log out or
close your browser, this cookie expires. A persistent cookie remains on
your hard drive for an extended period and can be removed (see your Web

We may set a persistent cookie to track and target your interests to
enhance your experience on our site. Both session ID and persistent
cookies are encrypted to protect them from being used for any other
purpose. Our cookies are encoded so that only we can interpret the

3.2.a.3. Third-Party Cookies. This

or integrated with, the Eternea.org website, or for the privacy
practices of third-party Internet advertising companies. After you leave
Eternea.org website by such a link, or access a third-party application
(such as a widget), or click on an advertisement, you should review the

3.2.c. Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web
Bugs). Like many websites and their third-party advertising partners, we
use a software technology called “clear gifs” to manage site content.
Clear gifs (also called “web beacons,” or “web bugs”) are very small
graphics (about the size of the period at the end of this sentence);
they contain a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and
are used to track the online movements of Web users. Unlike cookies,
which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are
embedded invisibly on Web pages. We use clear gifs in our HTML-based

be free to use such Information Voluntarily Provided on an unrestricted

3.3.a. Online Forms. To use certain services of
this site you must first complete an online form and provide Personally
Identifiable Information. We provide a number of tools designed to help
you manage and meet your interests, however you must enter personal
information into these tools in order to get the full benefit from them.
We will use this information to provide you with automated feedback
intended to help you achieve your goal. We consider this information
highly confidential and will not release it to others. We will not sell
or make public any profile or test information. We may aggregate the

sums, averages, and other statistics derived from it to you and other

3.3.c. Mailing List. In order to join
Eternea.org, you must provide us with an e-mail address, which we verify
before approving your membership. We will use this e-mail address to
send you your password in case you forget it. We will also send you
additional e-mail based on the preferences that you establish with us.
Every unsolicited e-mail that we send you will contain a link to the My
Account page that allows you to modify your e-mail preferences.
3.3.d. Your Eternea E-Mail Account.
Once you become a member of Eternea.org as a Board of Governors member,
or STE Formum member, or researcher, you may obtain a free
“firstname.lastname@example.org” e-mail account. Use of this e-mail account is
published on our website.
3.3.e. Referral Service. If you choose to use our
referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for
your friend’s name and e-mail address. We will automatically send your
friend an e-mail inviting him or her to visit the site. Your friend may
e-mail us to request that we remove this information from our database.
3.3.f. Demographic Data. We may ask you
to submit certain demographic or socio-economic information (for
example, location, age, education, etc.) to improve our marketing ot out
website features; such information is collated in the aggregate and
when used for marketing purposes is not associated with any specific
3.3.g. Customer Service. You may
voluntarily provide us with your Personally Identifiable Information to
allow us to communicate with you in response to your inquiries to
provide the services you request. We use return e-mail addresses to

contact with our member support team, or store results if you respond to
a survey. We encourage you to submit optional information so that we may
provide you with a more personalized experience on our site.
3.4 Information Collected from Members.
If you register as a member, you will be asked to provide information
concerning your age, gender, e-mail address, marital status, children,
religion, geographic location, occupation, education, home ownership,
and personal interests and hobbies.
3.5.a. Opt-Out Provision. When you
register for any of our services, we will save your e-mail address to
send you notices, updates about special offers and new services. If you do not
wish to receive e-mail updates, you may quickly change your email
preferences online or e-mail us at register@Eternea.org.
3.5.b. Financial Data. We do not
collect any financial information (such as your credit card numbers,
bank account numbers, or social security number) from you. We do ask
you for your mailing address. We may display products or services to you that we
think may be beneficial and appropriate. If you click on a product or service, you
will be taken to the seller’s website where, if you purchase a product,
the seller will collect any financial information necessary to complete
the transaction. Sellers do not share this information with us. Each

4.1 The Way We Use Information. We respect your
privacy. We do not sell, rent, or loan any information regarding our
customers to any third-party. We may, however, release this information

Act (“COPPA”) which prohibits the collection of personal information

9.1 How You Can Review, Change, or
Correct Your Information. You can review all of your Personally
Identifiable Information that we have collected and maintained by
visiting the PrivateProfile and email preferences pages. All of the
special tools that we provide collect personal information and allow you
to update and delete such information at any time. for STE data we
cannot allow you to change previously entered data for this will violate
the integrity of the research data collected. A capability is provided,
however, to append information into previously entered STE data.
